Not even sure how to title this so people might answer. Maybe...help? Confused on first impression things...?
This may sound a little strange, and as a forewarning I think *way* to much for anyone's own good, let alone my own, but...some things just cannot be figured out by oneself.
I "met" this guy online about a week ago. Not really met, just sort of ran across and ever since have been up in circles. He added me on Facebook, but we didn't really talk until last night. (He's European, I'm American)...the following conversation ensued...
Me: Hello
4:59pmHim: Hi..
5:00pmMe: How are you today? :)
5:01pmHim: Grt ty.. Just in a room full of WoW players... How do you do..?
5:02pmHim: Where are you from?
5:02pmMe: Well, thanks. In the middle of a game myself, though that's known as phone tag, lol.
US. California.
5:03pmHim: Cali, nice.. I would love to go there someday..
5:05pmMe: It is a beautiful place. Though a bit puzzling why I keep returning to the same locale.
Have you ever been to the States?
5:07pmHim: Never.. I was meant to go there for Xmas.. But I shall be in Paris instead..
I hope to come one day soon though.. But I don't think I will fit in.. I am so Europeon..
5:09pmHim: half Israeli so I have an advantage..lol..
5:10pmMe: lol, true there. Well, America is a vast place, if not diverse. If a Californian can fit in by Kansas standards, there's room for us all.
5:11pm Me: So what brings you to the land of the river? Or rather, away from the land of lakes? (don't ask what I meant by that. Apparently wit gets thrown in the washer when handed the phone while typing.)
So...I dono. Was I strange or rude in any way?
And today, he's online again. So I'm debating whether to say hi? I know there won't be anything without the first steps, but they say first impressions last a lifetime, so...I don't want to look like an idiot. And the squeaky wheel gets the grease, but...I don't want to seem like queen stalkerpest. Not to mention, there's no practical surface reason for it, not frightened scared, but for some reason this guy *scares* the *wits* out of me, just by way of "Whoa."(yes I know, how silly and insecure, but it *is* the truth).
So what the heck do I do here? Should I talk to him? If not, then when? If so, what do I say?
Help.
Ok, yes, I think too much. But was I strange/rude? So baffled as to how to do this.?

South American is the ONLY continent to NEVER be awarded the Olympics.
Obama's philosophy is one of Social Justice, NOT Merit, right ??
Shouldn't WE be Redistributing the Wealth to Rio ?

BQ -- How many of Obama's Cronies, will make money off of the Olympics in Chicago.
hmmm... Axelrod's development company, are doing the construction.
Valerie Jarrett Lobbied for the Chicago Olympics
( oh, that cannot be correct -- Obama promised not to hire Lobbyists)
...and President Jarrett, gave Michelle Obama a Job at the Chicago Hospital, which sent all Uninsured Patients down-the-street to the Community Hospitals. ( because She really cares about people <3 )
BQ2 -- So, who else does Obama owe, for his Rise to Power?
..
"I know you're trying to make a point about Obama's whole, "socializing" of things.."
No, it is not about "that" --
I think Obama and Chicago Politics are Crooks --and this is all about MONEY in their Pockets and Obama repaying his "debts"
Just my opinion.
...and Axelrod will financially benefit.
Oh, and I am also a Published Author and Journalist.
Gosh -- that's so easy to say !! :)
..
"If he hadn't gone over there you people would be screaming and wetting your pants and saying he hates America and he should be doing everything he can to get the games."
OMG !! I had know idea I cared that much.
I just prefer Rio to Chicago, "Duder."
Shouldn't Obama's "Social Justice" demand that Rio de Janeiro be awarded the Olympics.?.?

The Limits of Reinvention
If you think the U.S. was hated for being strong, wait until you see how it’s despised for being weak.
By Denis Boyles
(Denis Boyles teaches at The Brouzils Seminars in France. His most recent book is Superior, Nebraska.)
It’s like the heady days of Paris, 2005. This week, the French ruling clique is having a go at America, pouring vintage disdain on American puissance — and finding that power woefully misapplied.
This was all supposed to change under Pres. Barack Obama, the first U.S. president in history to take a global lap just to say he’s sorry for his country’s behavior. His plan was to reinvent America’s image in the world. He became an overnight sensation in Paris, delighting les médiacrates with his easy dismissal of French president Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife, Carla Bruni. Months later, in France, the only person more popular with the press than Roman Polanski is Barack Obama.
But that may soon change — as it has already at the Elysée, and, for that matter, in government offices in Berlin and in Brussels and in the eastern capitals. In those places, Barack Obama, the man who practically invented reinvention, is himself being reinvented as an ugly American. Not because he’s seen as loud and aggressive, but because he’s seen as weak.

When are the Frenchmen (the women are okay, they can't help that they are stuck with a bunch of wussies, I suppose) going to say 'Merci Beaucoup' for having their sorry butts saved twice?
Next time they are on their own, if they keep up this kind of garbage.
(And I suppose their are some 'Real Americans' who totally agree with this idiotic reasoning)
Does this kind of mindless drivel also make you regret that the English-speaking world saved the French?

10 true or false over history?
The First Lady has once again uttered words that reveal her self-absorbed interior life. Speaking in Copenhagen, she referred to her trip as a "sacrifice.":
"As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days," the first lady told a crowd of people involved in the Chicago project, "so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home."
"People say"? Who on earth has been telling Michelle that she is sacrificing something for the American people?
There is a victim mentality at work here. Life is unfair. This is a woman who sees herself put-upon by life, the victim of forces beyond her control. And she lives in the White House!
Aside from the obvious fact that this is a glamorous, luxurious trip on a private jet, a staying in the fanciest accommodations type of excursion, anyone who looks at her job as a sacrifice has what most employers call a "bad attitude." She fought hard for this job, and has used its perks to the max, including a fabulous family shopping trip to Paris. Face it: Michelle loves living large.
Copenhagen is a wonderful place to visit, and the shopping is fabulous, particularly if money is not an issue. Danish design and quality are legendary in a wide range of home furnishings.
What kind of person pities herself over jetting off with her home town pal Oprah, with Hubby flying in later to join the girls?

Is this your idea of "sacrifice"?
The book that I'm using is called the American Pageant (13th Edition.) I read the whole chapter to find the answer but I could not.
It's somewhere in chapter 8 - America Secedes from the Empire
Here is the question:
>>For what reason did Britain think it to be to their long-term advantage to insist on protection of Loyalists as part of the Treaty of Paris 1783?
